Kaethe Lutz Anderson, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, died peacefully on September 1, 2017 at her home in the Willow Wood Community. She was 103. She was born on December 14, 1913 in Kikinda, Serbia. In October 1944 as soviet troops advanced, she fled with her widowed mother, her sister-in-law, her niece and nephew to Budapest then on to Salzburg, Australia. While residing in the displaced persons camp in Salzburg, she met and worked for Father Fabian Flynn, head of Catholic Relief Services, who helped Kaethe immigrate to the United States in 1952 to work and...

Kaethe Lutz Anderson, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, died peacefully on September 1, 2017 at her home in the Willow Wood Community. She was 103. She was born on December 14, 1913 in Kikinda, Serbia. In October 1944 as soviet troops advanced, she fled with her widowed mother, her sister-in-law, her niece and nephew to Budapest then on to Salzburg, Australia. While residing in the displaced persons camp in Salzburg, she met and worked for Father Fabian Flynn, head of Catholic Relief Services, who helped Kaethe immigrate to the United States in 1952 to work and live in the household of John and Patricia Cunningham of Riverdale, NY.

She later moved to Deerfield Beach, FL where she was co-owner of The Trotters Motel on A1A. It was there that Kaethe met Elmer Robert Anderson (Bob) whom she married on 9/5/1970. They lived together in Point Pleasant, NJ, Myrtle Beach, SC and Pompano Beach, FL. Kaethe and Bob lived at Waterford Point until his death in 1980. She remained there until 1999 when she moved to the Willow Wood Community. She was loved by many in that community, for her warmth and charm. She was a person of deep faith and contributed generously to many charities.

Kaethe is survived by her nephews and their spouses Oscar & Sue Lutz, Erwin & Maricarmen Lutz, Robert & Margaret Anderson, and her great nephews and nieces Kenneth Anderson, Robert Anderson, Karen Minneci , Donna Luse, Theresa Bachmann, Evelln Lippert, Daniel Lutz and Victoria Kim.

A visitation and reception including a remembrance video will be held Thursday, 9/14/ 2017 from 4-8pm. The Funeral service will be held on Friday
9/15/ 2017 at noon in the main chapel at Forest Lawn North Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 200 West Copans Rd, Pompano Beach.
